Hi folks,
First off, no class for the next two weeks due to the holidays. We will be rejoining class on Monday Jan 2, 2017!
So today, we took it up a notch and introduced the concept of acceleration. Acceleration is a little tricky because it doesn't mean exactly what it means in "english". Acceleration in science is speeding up, slowing down and/or changing direction.
We did a lab today using a ramp and a ball to determine the acceleration of a ball as it rolled down the ramp. We also graphed the data to make the information easier to see.
Homework for this week is to read the "Acceleration" chapter in the book and answer the questions. Extra credit if you do the "mathy" ones.
No recording for this week due to the fact that most of class was taken up with lab work.
See you next year everyone!
Peaceful Holidays!
Jim Mueller
